The Joys of Mommy

I have five precious daughters, and I want to share my joys with you.

Joy is to behold God in everything.

Memory Keeper

One reason I created this blog was as a memory keeper. I want to keep a record of the funny things my children say and do.

1. Emogene made an ornament for the tree. She told me not to laminize it.
2. When Emogene would sing "Jesus Loves Me" she would end it with "soap."
3. On our way home from the hospital with Hattie, we asked Emogene what her baby sister was doing. She said, "She's dead." Eric whipped into the McDonald's parking lot. I jumped out to check on Hattie. We told her that the baby was just sleeping and would sleep a lot.
4. Emogene announced that the man God would choose for her to marry was going to be
Way-zer-lows.
5. Emogene said, "I might get some milk out of it." I said, "What?" Emogene answered, " I have a little bitty boob on my leg.
6. I asked Emma (4 years) if she thought God could help us adopt our little girl. Emma said, "Yes." She then prayed, "Dear God, we want a baby at China. Please help us get baby at China." She then paused for a few seconds looked at me and said with such conviction, "He said yes! (pause) Mommy, why can't we hear God all the time."

1. Hattie was asked by Ms. Tara (K4 teacher) to say the D sound. Hattie told her, "I'll tell you tomorrow."
2. Dr. Curry called Hattie her little angel. Hattie turned around and said, "I not a angel."
3. Nannie called and Hattie answered. Hattie asked her what she was doing. Nannie said," wrapping presents for some bad little children. Do you know any?" Hattie answered, "I'm a bad little children."
4. Hattie says, "I how to do it."
5. Hattie says when we are taking too long, "Why are you taking?"

I'll add more on another post one day. I need to get back to a project. I'll keep you in suspense and tell you about it later.

Ice Cream, Yummy!

We took the girls to Marble Slab for a treat. We just weren't cold enough.
"Mommy, I want ice cream with sparkles on it!"
"I liked Daddy's ice cream, too."

"I don't want to smile for the picture. I'll make a weird face instead. Can you see my green lips?"
We had a fun time. You should have seen all the pictures I took of Emogene before this one. She does not want to be photogenic anymore. Her goal is to ruin the pictures.

Emogene's New Shoes

Here is a sneak peak of Emogene's new shoes. She won't be endangering others now! =)

Just Call Her Stains

These are Stain's pants. She had tacos for lunch.
This is Stain's shirt. She got chocolate milk on her in the van on the way to school.
That's right, she looked filthy even before she got to school. She had it on her pants, too.

Stains doesn't care. She has a good time anyway. I actually think she prefers it that way.

Emogene is a Danger to Others

When I see Emogene after school, this is how her shoes look 90 % of the time.
She informed me during our visit after school that she had her shoes untied during the fire drill. DID YOU HEAR THAT? She endangered the lives of not only herself but all of the students in her class. I was quick to point out that she could have tripped and taken down many students with her and they could have been trapped in the fire. Whew! She knows how lucky she was that it was just a fire drill.
We encountered a problem at home as well. Sheldon, the dog, sees dangling untied shoes as a tool for his only personal enjoyment. I made him go inside soon after this. Emogene and Hattie thought it was hilarious.

Critters and Creepies

I took Emogene and Hattie to PetCo today. We needed a few supplies and hey, they love that place. We can go in and by nothing, and they will call it the best day ever. I need to make sure we go at a busy time though. Today was a nonbusy time so they only got to pet two dogs. One was a pit bull puppy. He looked harmless. The girls really liked a small dog, maybe a Yorkie? The owner actually asked if they wanted to hold it. Hattie usually picks up the dogs without asking first.
We were in there for only ten minutes. On the way out, we had to buy some crickets for Lizzie, Emogene's bearded dragon. Hattie thought this was great. She had to hold the bag and get a close up look at those creepy insects. They both had a good time, and then we got to go home.

Homeschoolers and Teacher tip: PetCo does free field trips. I'm taking my class near the end of February. Emogene was too cool to look at the camera for her picture.
Hattie likes to check out the crickets.
I think she might be kissing the bag.

Hattie was very excited to be at PetCo.

In the beginning...

Here is my first attempt to start a blog about our family. I decided to get this started because my sister is moving to a location I'm not allowed to disclose (I think her husband is a spy.) and taking my niece and nephews with her. How could she!! I thought this would be a great way to keep her updated on her nieces and hopefully convince her to do the same thing. I thought I would leave you with a picture of my niece and nephews. I hope they don't grow too quickly.
