My New Assistants

Hattie has been hired as my expert stamp sticker.  She stamped 50 invitations.
Emogene wrote the addresses on the invites.  I have the cutest assistants.

Decorating with Emogene and Hattie

We baked up the Easter goodies that were left on our doorstep.
I did the baking and Emogene and Hattie did the decorating.
I baked 24 cupcakes but limited them to 4 cupcakes.
 Look at that concentration.

 Hattie decorated beautifully!

Emogene was a decorating artist!

A freshly bathed (not my best decision) Lydda was ready for her cupcake.
While eating her cupcake, she got to watch her daddy mow.

We have been eating cupcakes everyday.  Emogene, Lydda, and I have been eating them icing free, but Hattie refuses.  She takes out the frosting everytime and decorates her cupcake.  Eric and I had the priveledge to eat the first super decorated cupcakes.  They were delicious.

Getting Egged!

The girls and I had such a wonderful treat when we arrived home yesterday.  Sitting on our bench by the front door was a gift from a church bunny.  The girls will be baking cupcakes on Saturday and blowing bubbles while they bake.  A balloon was attached and Lydda has taken it as her very own.  She wanted to sleep with it, but thankfully after it dried off, it gently floated to the ceiling out of her reach.

Look at our goodies.  The bag is precious!  The poem was adorable too.  Here it is in case one of you wanted to start "egging" people from your church.
"A quiet church bunny has decided to drop this off just for you.  He made this nice simple treat, because everyone loves something sweet.  Now it's up to you to spread the cheer to another church bunny that you hold dear.  So go and "egg" someone new.  It's just something that is fun to do!  Do it quickly, don't take a while.  Pass along an Easter smile!"  I KNOW!  I was very giggly as I read it too.

Then it was my turn to "egg" someone.  I quickly picked the family that I wanted to egg, and we went shopping today.  Before I begin, I will let you in on a secret about me.  I obsess about things.  I don't know when to stop.  Eric looked at me with his, "We don't have $50 to spend on this" look.  I really restrained myself.  I wanted to take out my stamping sets and decorate the poem sheet, but I shook my head and showed some restraint.  I only spent a little time in the T@rget dollar section and then went to the checkout stand.  Here is my attempt at "egging."

I got a $1.99 bag and spruced it up with an egg.
Everyone has red and white paint laying around to make a pink egg.  Right?
Of course you do!

I picked up some gardening things for the girls.  I happened to have some never opened rub-on lettering in my craft drawer.  I was so excited to rip open the packaging.
They each got a pack of flower seeds, a spade, and bubbles.

I then put everything in the bag.  I added the cake mix and frosting.
I'm now obsessing about when to leave it at the people's house.  I want it to be a surprise, but the mom doesn't work.  What do I do?  Ahhhh!!
I'll figure it out.
What did the little two year old into everything do?

Sticker mania!!!!  I had to give her something to do.
I wasn't about to let her paint on a Tuesday night right before dinner.
She really wanted all of my rub-on letters too.  That wasn't going to happen either.

Sister Bonding

After almost a whole year in our bedroom, Eric and I decided it was time to give Lydda a room. It isn't anything fancy.  I have plans of lilac walls and a beautiful chandelier.  I'm really not exactly sure about what I have planned, but I want it to be cheap grand.
When planning this big change, we thought it would be best for Lydda to share her room with a sister.  Both sisters were fighting petitioning for this special spot and Eric and I thought about it.  We decided that Hattie and Lydda needed the most special time together to help strengthen their bond.  Hattie was ecstatic.
Hattie gets to sleep in the "princess bed."  This is a very tall bed because of the extra thick mattress and stilts we put under the legs of it.  I have a plan to get wooden boxes on wheels with cute pulls and have them slide under the bed.  They will hold their shoes.  Right now I have luggage and Thirty-One stuff under it.
Hattie couldn't wait to read to Lydda before bedtime.  Lydda didn't exactly cooperate, because she wanted to hold the book.  Hattie read the book so well!  She used crazy expression with those gigantic exclamation marks.  We are huge fans of the Pigeon books.
Here are the cute roomies.  They wore their frog pajamas and then went to sleep.  We only had to go in two times to convince Hattie she would be fine without someone in her bed.  She now knows that Friday and Saturday nights are cuddle with Emma nights.  Emogene is allowed to sleep in Hattie's bed with her when it is not a school night.

Max Wants to Come Home

I have a special request of each of you. Could you give up eating out once this coming week or go to the library with the kids instead of the movies? Could you think of another way to NOT spend $10-$25 on yourself? Now, think about spending it on a new home for a child, or a warm meal three times a day, or giving a child a mom and dad to love them forever. You can do just that and possibly win a camera! Go to my friend Karen's blog and donate at least $10 to enter a raffle to win a camera. Her son Max longs for a family. He wants to feel the warmth of a mother's embrace and the strength of his father's hand protecting him when he gets scared. Click on the link and share your heart for orphans with them. Comment on this post to let me know that you donated. I will be sending a special Thirty-One item to one of you.

Help Max Come Home!

Concerned

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
I KNOW!  Lydda is possibly a hoarder!
Look at that pile.  She has 4 blankets, 5 stuffed animals, and one pillow.
I need to stop this before it gets out of control, but how can I say no?
She NEEDS them all.
