While searching for my roll of paper towels one day, I had an idea. I told another teacher that I wished we had a paper towel holder to hang from the board so I would have them handy.
The next day, I remembered some coat hangers I had in my art cabinet and I made my own paper towel holder.
Isn't it hideously awesome! I then thought, you know other teachers might want one of these.
And because I knew it was fully functional BUT very unsightly, I texted my hubby a picture of it and said, "Can you bring wire cutters and benders to make it prettier?" He was coming up to the school anyway, so I figured he could help me out.
Tada! I love it! Now it is fully functional and pretty.
Emogene's teachers will be getting one for Christmas with a small gift card to a coffee shop.
I think it is a pretty unique gift. Not many teachers get paper towels and a paper towel holder for Christmas.
Here are the supplies we used: coat hanger, wire cutters, and a bending thing.
Correction, I have been told that the wire cutters are needle nose pliers and the bending thing is a pipe bender. Eric cut off the top of the hanger and then used the bending thing to bend it to hook onto the chalk/marker tray. Easy and affordable. That is my kind of gift.
Eric already made one for each of the teachers on my hall. They liked them too.
Now, what happened to my original prototype? Eric threw it away.
