It Came!!!!!

We still don't know when we will use it, but we (Eric and I) are so excited.
We are DEFINITELY NOT tell the girls.

Visions of Emogene

I have no idea who took these pictures, but I like the surprises when I download them.

Ready!

Wubbie, check!
Book, check!
Movie, check!
Headphones, check!
Now we may go mother.

Be Careful!

Are you sure that tray is big enough to hold all that cheese dip?

Future Mannequins

Rambo Lydda

I know we got a lot of strange looks going into church.  She insisted that this was her style.

Caption Lydda

The girls took the dishwasher box and turned it into a spaceship (best toy EVER) and Lydda was the "caption."

The First Day of School

My girls were all ready to get going.  They each had a great first day.  The best part was Emogene making a new friend.  Her name is Ashlynn and she even lives near us.  I see a sleepover coming soon.

Mommy, Look!

A Last Blast

The Friday before we had to go back to school, Eric and I took the girls to a splash park.  It had a very small splash area, but the girls loved it.  We brought along the bubble machine and attracted a crowd.  Before it gets chilly, we may have to visit the park again.

An UnBEElievable Student

I became Hattie's teacher on Monday, August 15, 2011.  It began as any ordinary first day of school and ended with smiles.  The first day was great.  Hattie announced that she loved being in my class.  She was very attentive and tried very hard.
On Tuesday, I started listening to my students read to start evaluating them.  Hattie wowed me with her progress.  I listened to her again and played "Race My Pencil."  Hattie beat it every time. I told her she was so awesome.  She said, "I know!  I almost lost my breath!"
Wednesday night came around and Hattie informed me that she thought everyday would be like the first day.  The days keep getting LONGER and LONGER.  Her days are now HORRIBLE.  I told her some learning will have to happen in my class.
She was also raising her hand, and when I called on the child behind her, she said, "Does she not seeeee me?"
This year is going to be interesting to say the least.

A Little Sad

Camera Hijacked, Again

Emogene has been taking out Lizzie everyday for a week now.  She loves playing with her.  I have gotten a few laughs from her about that lizard.
1.  She very excitedly told me about an experiment they conducted on Lizzie.  She and Hattie wanted to see if she would float.  Eric called it the "Drown Lizzie Experiment."  They concluded that Lizzie puffs up her belly with air to make herself float.
2.  Emogene announced that Lizzie was punished today and had to go back in her cage.  Could it be she pooped yet again in the living room?  Nope!  Emogene told her to stay still while she dried her off, and Lizzie kept trying to run up her arm.  That Lizzie is a trouble maker!
3.  Emogene put Lizzie on the couch.  Put her hand on her nose and on her tail, this reminded me of a breeder showing his dog.  She then backed up, the whole while saying "Stay Lizzie.  Stay."  I was a little more than nervous that Lizzie was going to take off, but she didn't.  I think she didn't like her punishment from the day before and learned her lesson.

Go Wales!!!!

Emogene and Hattie were on team Wales for Soccer Camp.  They were given "funwork" two nights out of the week.  One night they had to look up facts about their soccer team to earn bonus points.  The girls each found 3 facts to bring and earned lots of points.  They then had flag day.  On this day, they have to bring the flag of their country.  You see, I found out from Hattie's fact searching that the Wales team has a nickname, The Dragons.  I figured out why after seeing the flag.  Why my children were put on a team with the most ornate dragon on the flag, I'll never know.
Here I was drawing the dragon late into the night.  Do I look thrilled about "funwork?"

Here was Emogene coloring the flag the next morning.  I had only made one flag for them to share because going to bed at 12:00 am was more appealing than 1:00 am.
This did not meet Emogene's approval.  They HAD to have their own flag or their team wouldn't have a chance of winning the World Cup.

Hattie's solution was to draw her own flag.  Her explaination to Coach Owen was,
"Emma doesn't know how to artist, but I do."
She was very happy about her flag.

Guess what?  Team Wales won the World Cup!  I think the flags played a big part in this victory.  It may have also helped that Coach Ritchie is from Wales and he chose the winning team.  Emogene did announce that she was surprised they won since they didn't win a single game at Soccer Camp.

My Soccer Camp Buddy

She was so good the whole week.  She didn't stay on her blanket too much though.  My lap was her favorite seat.  We let a boy use her blanket to keep his tushy dry.  It rained everyday and her blanket was waterproof.
