We went to a concert at the library. We were a little late. It had already started. The children were up front. It was interesting. As you can see from the first picture, the children looked like they were in a trance of some type. They were not clapping, swaying, dancing, or anything.
Here were the little zombies.
The singing duo even mentioned that it was okay for them to move or clap during the music.
I think they thought it was strange too.
Emogene and Hattie were just as emotionless.
Hattie had to come stand by me. It was a too loud for her.
Lydda had a shocked look on her face and was clinging to me.
I spent a good part of the concert reading books to her. I don't know how she heard me.
The kids then got to sit down to rest for the rest of the concert.
Hattie returned to her mat near the front and enjoyed the whole concert.
It was funny. The parents did more clapping and dancing than the kids. The duo sang mostly Beatles songs. They threw in a song by the Monkeys and some other ones I can't remember. I enjoyed it!
We then went book hunting. The girls picked out a few to take home.
They were ready to read in the van on the way home.
Funny thing happened while checking out. Hattie brought $2 mostly in pennies to purchase a replacement library card. I wanted her to pay for it since she lost it. I had $2 in bills in my wallet so I gave that to save on time counting out over 150 pennies and poured Hattie's change into my wallet. Hattie did not grasp that concept and demanded I give her the coins back. Her reason, "I was saving the whole thing for college." That's a new one!
