The Joys of Mommy

I have five precious daughters, and I want to share my joys with you.

Joy is to behold God in everything.

Hiding

I may need to move the highchair a little farther from the dishtowel drawer. I had been looking for that bowl. I found it today, two days after she used it last.

"Did you need that bowl Mommy?"

A Long Day

We left early this morning to head to Mississippi to visit relatives and deliver squeaky shoes. The kids tried to be good travelers but they got tired and whiney.

Here we were at the hospital. We had just visited two people, and then were waiting for Aunt Judine to come see us so we could say hello.
Hattie had just let out a HUGE whine of aggrivation because, "Talan thinks I like him."
I told her, "You better like him. He is your cousin. You are supposed to love him."
I took several pictures of the roses Big Paw Paw had planted at his church. They are beautiful this year.

Lydda had had enough visiting and meeting new people. She was ready to go home.

A Rock Climb

Eric's work had a family day. We ate lots of crawfish. The girls played games and had fun winning prizes. I think they ate candy all day. Here are some pics from our day.

Can you see all the crumbs? She loved that cookie.

What a beautiful butterfly! Emogene was in line three times to get her face painted too, but got tired of waiting each time and went to get more candy.

The girls waited until the very end of the day to climb the wall. They were both excited.

Emogene got all the way to the top!!!

She then wouldn't come down. I probably wouldn't either. The nice owner went to get her.

Hattie went after Emogene. She was very excited.

She climbed only a few feet and was ready to jump down.
They were both ready to go again, but we were leaving and the line had gotten even longer. They want to try it another day.
Isabel was a chicken and wouldn't do it at all. She was all for encouraging the little girls to get up there.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Someone was having a great time making a mess while I was doing lesson plans and grading tests. The VHS tapes were in a nice pile as well. We cleaned up before leaving Mrs. Kelly's classroom.

Suppertime

"What? You wanted me to eat the noodles!"

"That is such a silly idea.
I'm pretty sure playing with them was the way to go"

A Trip to the Zoo

Hattie's class had a field trip planned for the zoo while we were in China. It rained that day and cancelled the trip. They did it this week. I was so glad that I got to go.

She loves to go into the prairie dog tunnel. It gets really hot in there.

She is so silly. Isn't her shirt adorable.

Lydda was very relaxed for her first zoo trip.
This was about the time that I noticed her diaper bag had ZERO diapers in it and she was stinky.
Thankfully, I have a very untidy van and my mom scrounged around in it and found two diapers.

Kali rode with us to the zoo. They were the first students to arrive.

"Lydda, Lydda, Lydda! Look at Mommy for a picture."
Why is she totally ignoring me?

Oh, I see now. The turtle pile was much more interesting.

This is always Hattie's favorite part. She was brushing and feeding this lucky goat.
She quickly use some "hanitizer" when she came back to me.

Lydda had a great time. Her favorite animals were the tamarinds.

Hattie got a soft rabbit from Nannie in the gift shop.
Hattie then melted Nannie's heart as we were leaving. Hattie yelled out,
"Nannie, I love you soooo much."

Out and About

Lydda had such a busy day. She got to meet her great grandmother aka Grandma. Grandma thought it was funny that she started whining or crying anytime Grandma started to talk or look at her. Lydda finally got brave enough to start crawling around and playing. Then Aunt Sue walked in and we had to start all over again.
Lydda then went to see Nannie, Paw Paw, and Talan.
To finish her day, she went to Nana's house.

Here she is staring at Grandma. She is holding her favorite fetch toy.
I also kept her in her pajamas until lunchtime. They were just too cute.

I think she enjoyed the swing at Paw Paw and Nannie's house.

She was all tuckered out by the time we got to Nana's house.
Nana was okay with that, because a sleeping Lydda doesn't know who is holding her.
We also try to remember to bring Wubbie everywhere we go. She thinks she has to hold
Wubbie to go to sleep.

Hattie's Words

Hattie your hair is sticking up everywhere!
"Yeah, I know. It is because of magnets."

That cage was germy.
"Mommy, I need my hanitizer."
She is just trying to save time by combining hand and sanitizer.
What a smart girl!

Excitement!

Someone is smuggling a pumpkin or having twins at the end of May.
My mom and I went to a baby shower for my dear friend. She is having a boy and girl soon. I am so excited. Lydda will have more playmates. They are going to be the cutest kids and super smart too. I will be getting away one Friday this summer and going to spend the day with her to help. I'm not sure if she knows it yet. I WILL force her to allow me in. Eric will stay home with the girls.

Spring Singing

These are TERRIBLE pictures, but I couldn't keep the Spring Concert news from you.
Emogene and Hattie were in a Spring Concert. They sang such beautiful songs. I used my phone to take the pictures. They are aweful.

Hattie was preparing to go on stage. She walked very well.
She is great at following directions from other people.

Emogene enjoyed the program.
She is not sleeping here. I just took the pic at the wrong time.

Hattie is walking across the stage (green bow).
Emogene is very near her (white bow).
Nannie and Paw Paw came too. They played "pick up the toy" with Lydda.
Lydda was good. She likes to point at things and say "Uh", just like her aunt Risti.

Surprise

She isn't terrified of the dog!

A Little Regression

Lydda Unglued

Lydda is starting to enjoy her sisters more and more. She will even crawl away from me for brief periods to play with them. I couldn't resist and had to get my camera.

She played fetch most of the time. We would throw the camera lens
and she would bring it back to me. At first, she came back as fast as she could.
She eventually lingered and smiled and played with Emogene and Hattie.

Oops, she fell over.

Emogene is so interesting.

You are soooo funny Mommy.

Hattie loves being a big sister.

Ummm, she is showing a little cleavage.

Hurry, hurry, hurry. Mommy's lap is getting cold.

They bring such joy to me. They are so funny.

She picked out her ensemble all by herself. I love the hat.

Yay!I got back to Mommy.

My Precious Lydda

I'm coming Mommy!
(Then she fell.)
