Preggo Side Effects

At one of my prenatal appointments I mentioned a knot/lump I found on my boob near my underarm. I was sent to a breast specialist that day. They could feel it but couldn't see anything on an ultrasound. I went back after a few weeks to get it checked again. The boob doc was pretty sure it was extra breast tissue growing (bigger and bigger) because of my hormones.

Let's talk about this extra boob growing out of my underarm. I've never been a big boobed person but I'm also not a small boobed person. You'd think having an extra growth of breast tissue would excite most women, but let me describe it to you. Remember It is only on one boob and almost in my armpit. Also, imagine the beautiful side boob talked about at the Oscars when those beautiful actresses have the side of their boob showing (inappropriate, I know). Now change the vision to side "make you gag" boob. Nonetheless, I was determined to wear my tank tops all summer, so basically grossing people out for the summer. It won't go away on its own and the doc can't remove it until I'm done breast feeding or I will leak milk out of my side boob forever. That would be a problem.

Well, after Millie was born, the theory of it being extra breast tissue was confirmed by the hard as a rock knot full of breast milk. Let's add two more under my other arm pit as well. It was very weird. I am super thankful that it is not something scary and that I didn't have an extra nipple to cause me to lactate out of it. That has totally happened to other people.

And that folks proves that not all pregnancies are the same. Having an extra side boob was a first for me.
