The Insect Whisperer

Hattie had a butterfly fall in love with her at recess.  We think the sticky pear juice left over from lunch was the main reason it loved her.  It would fly around and come right back to her hand. Hattie was in insect heaven.

Here is a dragonfly Hattie wanted me to see, so her teacher took a picture of it for her.

30 Weeks!

(Can you imagine the amount of tidying I had to do just to take this picture?  Lydda said, "I've never seen your closet door shut!"  It did take some work to get it to close.)

I really haven't gotten into the weekly preggo pictures but wanted to give an update.
I am feeling great and can't wait to meet my newest joy.  All of us are loving feeling the kicks and jabs.  The girls are waiting for me to get HUGE and talk about it all the time.  Lydda calls me fat often.  We had to have a quick discussion before heading to Baby Grand at the hospital so she didn't use that word around all of the hormonal pregnant women.  They are also waiting anxiously for my bellybutton to pop out.  The top of it has poked out a little but because of lots of scar tissue from laparoscopic surgeries, I don't think the bottom will ever pop out.

As of right now, I've gained 4 pounds, failed my one hour glucose test, passed my three hour glucose test with "flying colors," had placenta previa ruled out (such a relief), and have had great blood pressures each time.  I'm hoping for a 37 week delivery to have more time with my little joy before going back to work.
To help make this happen, I walk two miles a day which drives Eric crazy.  The part that drives him the most crazy is that I don't consider other walking as exercise.  For example, walking around the French Quarter in NO for many hours, doesn't count!  Walking around the zoo for many hours, doesn't count!  It has become a bit of an obsession.  I told the girls that it is a good habit for me.  Emogene tells people I cry if I don't get to walk.  That is not true.

The girls are hoping for a girl, no surprise.  They want to play dress-up with her, and their new baby cousin Collins has made them want a girl more.  Lydda has been very vocal about her desire for a girl, and I'm afraid she will be very upset if Bean is a boy.
The baby's heartbeat has been all over the place 171, 160s, 141.
I have a feeling that it is a boy, but I had that same feeling with Emogene and Hattie and see how that hunch worked out.  If people had to guess they say I'm carrying like a boy.  I'm pretty sure I was told that for my last two pregnancies.  Who knows?  The surprise will be awesome.
Here is Bean at 30 weeks.  He is measuring at 3lbs and 14oz.
He is measuring big, but those measurements aren't always accurate.

A Work Crawfish Boil

Eric's work had a crawfish boil.  Can I tell you I had been counting down the days for WEEKS?
I LOVE crawfish.  My ankles and feet didn't love it for days (swelling!), but I did.
It was held at a beautiful plantation home, Houmas House.  We had a great time and were stuffed at the end.

This is me at 28 weeks pregnant.
